History

Sterile Surgical Systems was founded in 1992 as the region’s only FDA registered Reusable Sterile Surgical Pack Processor.

The OR Pack and laundry businesses were purchased by former Microsoft executive, Gregory Gicewicz, in 2006. Since that time, the Sterile Surgical Systems team have grown the business significantly. After moving the business from Tumwater to a larger facility in Tacoma in 2021, Greg transitioned ownership and leadership to Erik Lawler and a local group of capital partners who are committed to supporting and growing local businesses that provide critical services to our community. Today, Sterile Surgical Systems continues to be locally owned and is proud to service some of the largest hospitals and healthcare networks in the region.

Laundry Capacity

Sterile Surgical Systems currently employs 70 FTE’s. All work is done in-house.

Sterile Surgical System’s Tacoma, Washington processing plant has capacity to process an additional 20 million pounds of laundry annually.
